French sculptor

He was born in Paris and was distinguished for his bronze statues of animals (Louvre, Paris). His style was vigorous, in the spirit of the Romantic movement. He created the pediment Napoleon dominating History and the Arts at the Louvre, and the equestrian statue of Napoleon I at Ajaccio.
