Brady, Nicholas 1659-1726
Irish Anglican clergyman and poet

Born in Bandon, County Cork, and educated at Christ Church, Oxford, and Dublin, he took holy orders and was rector at Stratford-upon-Avon from 1702 to 1705. With Nahum Tate he produced a metrical version of the Psalms (1696), which met with strong opposition from many of the Tory clergy. He also wrote a tragedy, The Rape, and translated Virgil's Aeneid.
