Cimon c.507-c.450BC
Athenian soldier and politician
His father was Miltiades the Younger, the conqueror at Marathon. He fought at the Battle of Salamis (480BC) and from 476 was in supreme command of the Delian League in the patriotic struggle against the Persians. He is most famous for his destruction of a Persian fleet and army at the River Eurymedon (c.476). He led an unsuccessful expedition to support the Spartans during the Helot uprising in 462, and was dismissed and ostracized in 461. He was recalled in 454, and may have been instrumental in obtaining a five-year armistice with Sparta. He died at the siege of a town in Cyprus.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
