Galba, Servius Sulpicius 3BC-AD69
Roman emperor

He became consul (AD33), and administered Aquitania, Germany, Africa and Hispania Tarraconensis with competence and integrity. In 68 the Gallic legions rose against Nero, and proclaimed Galba emperor. However he soon made himself unpopular by favouritism, ill-timed severity and avarice, and was assassinated by the praetorians in Rome.
