Hasdrubal, also called Hasdrubal Barca ('Lightning') d.207BC
Carthaginian general

The son of Hamilcar, and the brother of Hannibal, he was left in command of the Carthaginian army in 218BC when Hannibal invaded Italy at the start of the Second Punic War (218-201). From 218 to 208 he fought successfully against the great Roman general Scipio Africanus, known as Scipio the Elder and his son Scipio Africanus, known as Scipio the Younger. In 207 Hasdrubal marched across the Alps to Italy to support his brother, but was intercepted at the river Metaurus and killed.
