Ory, Kid 1886-1973
US trombonist and bandleader

Born in Louisiana, one of the first polyinstrumentalists, singers, and composers in jazz, he formed Kid Ory's Sunshine Orchestra in 1922, played with Louis Armstrong's Hot Five and Jelly Roll Morton's Red Hot Peppers, and took part in the New Orleans Revival from 1942. His compositions include 'Muskrat Ramble'.
