Paullus Macedonicus, Lucius Aemilius d.160BC
Roman general and politician
The son of Lucius Aemilius Paullus, he was famous primarily for his defeat of Perseus, King of Macedonia, at the Battle of Pydna (168BC), and for suppressing the Macedonian monarchy, whence his title 'Macedonicus'. With Perseus's book collection, which fell to him as booty, he created the first private library at Rome. His second son, whom he gave in adoption to Publius Scipio, was the notorious destroyer of Carthage and Numantia, Scipio Aemilianus.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
