Schwinger, Julian 1918-94
US physicist and Nobel Prize winner

One of Harvard's youngest professors, he shared the 1965 Nobel Prize for physics with Richard Feynman and Sin-Itiro Tomonaga. He was one of the founders of quantum electrodynamics. He served as Professor of Physics at the University of California in Los Angeles from 1972 to 1980, and University Professor from 1980 until his death.
