Sirhan, Sirhan c.1943-
US assassin of Senator Robert Kennedy
Born in Palestine, he was a refugee whose family settled in Pasadena, California, in 1956. Sirhan was angered by the pro-Israeli stand taken by Robert Kennedy in his campaign for the Presidential nomination in 1968. On the night of 5 June 1968 he shot Kennedy in the head as the senator passed through the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles on his way to a victory press conference. He was found guilty of premeditated murder of the first degree and the death penalty was recommended; however, Senator Edward Kennedy's plea for leniency led to this sentence being commuted to life imprisonment.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
