Stanislaw I Leszczynski, English Stanislas or Stanislaus 1677-1766
King of Poland
Born in Lemberg, he had the support of Karl XII of Sweden and defeated Augustus II, the Strong to become king in 1704. However after Karl's defeat at the Battle of Poltava in 1709, Stanislaw was driven out by Peter I, the Great to make room for Augustus again. His daughter Maria married Louis XV of France in 1725, a union which facilitated his re-election as King of Poland on Augustus's death in 1733. After losing the War of the Polish Succession, he formally abdicated in 1736, receiving the duchies of Lorraine and Bar. He died of burns in an accident in Lunéville.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
