Bathsheba b.c.970BC
Biblical character

She was the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite, an army officer. After King David had committed adultery with Bathsheba, Uriah was sent to his death, in order to hide the king's crime, enabling him to take the beautiful Bathsheba for himself. Nathan the prophet forced David to condemn his own action, and prophesied the death of their first child. Their second child was Solomon, David's successor. Jewish tradition holds that the song in praise of a good wife in Proverbs 31 was written by Solomon in memory of his mother.
