King of Italy

He was the grandson of Berengar I. He succeeded his father as Margrave of Ivrea in 928 and became king in 950. In 951/2 he was dethroned by the Emperor Otto I and later, after three years' refuge in a mountain fortress, was sent as a prisoner to Bavaria (963) where he died.
