Cade, Jack d.1450
Irish rebel

After an unsettled early career, he lived in Sussex, England, possibly as a physician. He then settled in Kent. He assumed the name of Mortimer, and the title Captain of Kent, and led the insurrection of 1450 against King Henry VI. With a great many followers he marched on London, but after a promise of pardon, his forces began to disperse. Cade attempted to reach the coast but was killed on the way.
