Scottish playwright

He was born in Edinburgh, and educated at Eton and Oxford. The author of a number of plays, principally light-hearted comedies, he is best known for The Chiltern Hundreds (1947), The Thistle and the Rose (1949) and The Reluctant Debutante (1955).
