Edward the Ćtheling, Prince d.1057
English nobleman

He was the son of Edmund II, Ironside, and nephew of the childless Edward the Confessor. After Edmund's death (1016), he was taken for safe keeping to Hungary, where he had a son, Edgar the Ćtheling. Edward the Ćtheling was recognized as the proper heir to Edward the Confessor's throne, but he died shortly after landing in England (1057).
