Flahaut de la Billarderie, Auguste Charles Joseph, Comte de 1785-1870
French soldier and diplomat

Believed to be the illegitimate son of Talleyrand, he fought under Napoleon I. He was the lover of Napoleon's sister, Caroline Murat, and of Napoleon's stepdaughter, Hortense de Beauharnais, whose son by him became the Duc de Morny. In exile after Waterloo, he married the Baroness Keith and Nairne (1788-1867). After 1830 he returned to France, was ambassador at Vienna (1842-48) and London (1860-62), and was Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honour.
