Francis II 1544-60
King of France

He was the eldest son of Henri II and Catherine de Médicis. As the Dauphin of France, in 1558 he married Mary, Queen of Scots. He was a sickly boy, and his short reign (1559-60) was dominated by the Guise family in their struggle against the Protestants.
