Frederick Louis 1707-51
Prince of Wales

Born in Hanover, he was the eldest son of George II and Caroline of Ansbach, and father of George III. He quarrelled with his father over his allowance. He married Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha (1736). In 1737 he joined the parliamentary opposition, which was centred on his new home, Leicester House, and was banished from court.
