Last King of Hanover

Born in Berlin, he became blind through an accident (1833). He ruled from 1851 to 1866. A complete absolutist, by siding with Austria he lost Hanover to Prussia and died an exile in Paris. His son was Ernest Augustus, Duke of Cumberland.
