Goossens, Eugčne 1845-1906
Belgian conductor

Born in Bruges, he studied at the Brussels Conservatory, and became the conductor of several opera companies in Belgium, France and Italy. He made his name, however, in Great Britain, in comic opera with the Carl Rosa Company (from 1873). He founded the Goossens Male Voice Choir in Liverpool in 1894.
