Edward IV made him Constable of Norwich Castle (1462), Sheriff of Norfolk and Suffolk, Treasurer of the Royal Household, and Lord Howard (1470). He was created Duke of Norfolk, Earl Marshal of England (a distinction still borne by his descendants), and Lord Admiral of England, Ireland and Aquitaine by Richard III (1483). He was killed at the Battle of Bosworth and his honours were attainted.
