Karl XV 1826-72
King of Sweden and Norway
He was the son and successor of Oskar I. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the idea of a united Scandinavia until his accession (from 1859). He promised to support Denmark in her border disputes with Germany, but when Denmark declared war on Germany in 1864 over Schleswig-Holstein, the Swedish government refused to honour his pledge. During his reign the old Riksdag (parliament) of the four Estates was replaced (1865-66) by a Riksdag of two chambers with equal rights. A cheerful and flamboyant character, he was also a poet and artist of ability. Married to Lovisa of the Netherlands, he left no son and was succeeded by his younger brother, Oskar II.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
