Kemble, Fanny (Frances Anne) 1809-93
English actress
She was born in London, the daughter of Charles Kemble. A beautiful young woman, and a skilful actress, she made her debut at Covent Garden in 1829, when her Juliet created a great sensation. For three years she played leading parts in London, and went with her father to the USA (1832), where she married Pierce Butler (1834), a Southern planter. They were divorced in 1848 and after some years she returned to London. Resuming her maiden name, she gave Shakespearean readings for 20 years. She published dramas, poems, and also eight volumes of autobiography.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
