Gonne, Maud, married name MacBride 1865-1953
Irish nationalist and actress
The daughter of an English colonel, she was an agitator for the cause of Irish independence and edited a nationalist newspaper, L'Irlande libre, in Paris. She met W B Yeats in the early 1890s and, though Yeats wished to marry her, she ultimately rejected him and married Major John MacBride, who fought against the British in the Boer War and was executed as a rebel in 1916. She was one of the founders of Sinn Féin. Her son Seán MacBride was Foreign Minister of the Irish Republic from 1948 to 1951.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
