Magnus I Olafsson, called the Good 1024-47
King of Norway and of Denmark
The illegitimate son of King Olaf II Haraldsson (St Olaf), he was named after Emperor Charlemagne. After St Olaf's death at the Battle of Stiklestad (1030), the boy went to Prince Jaroslav the Wise in Kiev. In 1035 he assumed the Norwegian throne by popular acclaim. He inherited the Danish throne in 1042, and won a notable victory over the Wends in 1043 at Lürschau Heath in southern Jutland. In 1045 he agreed to share the throne of Norway with his uncle Harald III Sigurdsson, and died two years later during a campaign in Denmark.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
