Morny, Charles Auguste Louis Joseph, Duc de 1811-65
French nobleman
Born in Paris, he was believed to be the son of Hortense de Beauharnais and the Comte de Flahaut, and so half-brother of Napoleon III. He was adopted by the Comte de Morny, and served in Algeria, but soon left the army, and in 1838 became a manufacturer of beet sugar. From that time he was mixed up in a variety of speculations. Chosen a deputy (1842), he quickly became prominent in financial questions. After 1848 he supported Napoleon, took a leading part in the coup d'état, and became Minister of the Interior. He was president of the corps législatif from 1854 to 1865, was ambassador to Russia (1856-57), and was created a duke (1862). He is the 'Duc de Mora' in Léon Daudet's Nabab.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
