Orléans, Charles, Duc d' 1391-1465
French nobleman, poet and soldier
Born in Paris, he married (1406) his cousin Isabella, widow of Richard II of England. In alliance with Bernard d'Armagnac, he did his best to avenge the murder of his father by the Duke of Burgundy. He held a high command at Agincourt (1415), and was captured and taken to England, where he lived for 25 years, composing courtly poetry in French and English, which was conventional, musical and graceful. Ransomed in 1440, he returned to France where he maintained a kind of literary court at Blois. His son became Louis XII.

A wildcard is a special character you can use to replace one or more characters in a word. There are two types of wildcard. The first is a question mark ?, which matches a single character. The second is an asterisk *, which matches zero or more characters. The two kinds of wildcard can be mixed in a single search.
