Ptolemy V, Epiphanes c.210-180BC
King of Egypt

He was the son and successor (205BC) of Ptolemy IV, Philopator. Egypt's decline dates from his reign, and from the internal conflicts that plagued the dynasty for most of the rest of Ptolemaic history. The belated attempt of Cleopatra to revive Ptolemaic power with Roman help ended in failure, and after her, Egypt became a Roman province.
