Rice-Davies, Mandy (Marilyn) 1944-
Welsh model and show girl

Born in Wales, the daughter of a police officer, she grew up in the West Midlands, where she worked in a department store before becoming a show girl at Murray's Cabaret Club, London. There she met and befriended Christine Keeler and the osteopath Stephen Ward, who introduced her to influential London society. She was a witness at Ward's trial, and in reply to a suggestion that Lord Astor denied knowing her, she gave the celebrated retort: 'He would, wouldn't he?'. After the trial she moved to Israel, where she established two night clubs called Mandy. She married twice and published her autobiography. Eventually she returned to live in London.
