Ritchie, Anne Isabella Thackeray, Lady 1837-1919

Born in London, she was the daughter of William Makepeace Thackeray. A close companion of her father and well acquainted with his literary and artistic friends, she contributed valuable personal reminiscences to an 1898-99 edition of his works. She also wrote memoirs of their contemporaries, including Tennyson and Ruskin. Her novels include The Village on the Cliff (1867), Old Kensington (1873) and Mrs Dymond (1885).
