Seymour (of Sudeley), Thomas Seymour, Baron c.1508-1549
English soldier and politician

Son of Sir John Seymour and younger brother of Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset, and brother-in-law to Henry VIII through Henry's marriage to Jane Seymour, he became High Admiral of England in 1547, and in the same year married the dowager queen Catherine Parr, widow of Henry VIII. He schemed against his brother to marry Edward VI to Lady Jane Grey. After Catherine Parr's death in 1548 he tried to marry Princess Elizabeth of England, but was executed by his brother for treason.
